Information about SGI in South Africa
Q: Where are there members practicing in South Africa?
A: There are SGI-SA members actively practicing in Johannesburg, Pretoria, Nelspruit, Cape Town, Bloemfontein and Durban in larger numbers and some smaller towns throughout South Africa.
Q: Where can I find the SGI-SA centre and how do I get there?
A: The SGI South Africa centre is located at the corner of Wells and Blanford roads in Parkwood, Johannesburg. The entrance is on Dudley road from the gate to the parking area. We do not have an SGI centre in other cities in South Africa.
Q: When can I visit the centre?
A: The SGI-SA centre in Johannesburg is open every Tuesday and Thursday from 10 am until 2pm and on Saturday from 9am to 12 pm and also on Sundays when there is a Gosho study or Kosen Rufu meeting.
Q: When does the centre have big meetings like Gosho and Kosen Rufu meetings?
A: Typically these meeting are held the first Sunday of the month (Kosen Rufu Gongyo) and the third Sunday of every month (Study meeting). Please check though beforehand, as the schedule is subject to change.
Q: Can I buy prayer beads and books at the centre?
A: Yes, the book store is open on Sundays when we have Gosho study and Kosen Rufu Gongyo.
Q: I would like to attend a discussion meeting or to bring a guest to an introductory meeting – how do I arrange this?
A: Please also send us your letter of introduction from your SGI organisation. We will try to facilitate arrangements for meetings in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Bloemfontein and Nelspruit. However, please note that this will be subject to the availability of members in these cities according to their schedules.
